Certain clubs do seem to get better value for money than others. Take Bonnuci for example he was a snip at €28 million.

Domestic fees between Italian clubs have always been quite reasonable.
It’s only when teams from abroad (particularly us it seems) enquire about buying one of their players that the b*ggers start behaving like modern day Dick Turpins

That core of that title winning team from Monaco is nearly all gone. Bernardo, Mendy, Bakayoko, Mbappe last summer and now Fabinho, Sidibe, and Lemar this summer.
