Why is it disgraceful? It says in the first part that the clubs future is uncertain so clearly there are finance issues.

Someone else.says the women's team are self sufficient and have been offered sponsorship deals. Great. Well done. Go and start up an FC Thornaby women's team and go it alone. Good luck to them.

They are self sufficient as long as that includes subsidies presumably from the men’s team

or possibly just infrastructure. It mentions they had nowhere to hold their end of season awards, so guessing they don't have their own pitch/facilities either

If your response to financial troubles is to cut all the provision for women and girls then that shows plain as day that you never cared about them to start with. This kind of thing shows how fragile the grassroots women's game is - so many teams are dependent on the good will of organisations that will always prioritise the men.

They get an average attendance of 110 they are not there to subsidise the women's teams, I wonder what attendances THEY get? How dare a team go under and not take into account the effect on other teams.

Beth Mead could chip in is she wanted but she wont.
