Can’t help thinking a minute’s applause would be more appropriate. Celebrating his life rather than mourning the death of an elderly gentleman who had suffered many years of very bad health whose passing is more of a release than a tragedy. Silence means half the crowd and TV audience desperate to take offence at the slightest transgression whether deliberate or not
