Is that the same make that mccartney uses?
They're very nice to look at.

The very same mate
Thought it looked similar, does it give the same sound as a normal bass guitar or is this a bit more distinctive?

Its distinctive mate, due to the hollow body mostly, it has a sort of 'woody' sound compared to solid bodied Basses like Fenders, it also has quite a thuddy fat sort of tone, it also has a 30.5 inch scale and slim neck which makes it very easy to play compared to a normal 34 inch scale, I dont have long fingers so it kind of suits me well, even though Ive played Fenders mostly, I had one of these when I was 19, the one I had was a German 500/1, it would be worth a few grand now I suppose but I sold it after a year as I was needing money for something or other, they still make them in germany for about $2000 but I got an Asian one, a lot cheaper but still excellent quality, theyre a bit of a 'Marmite' bass, love em or hate em...

I got the new strings today. express post is brill !! (XL Chromes).....anyway just restrung it and its like a different beast, way better tone and ease of playing, why do they put such crappy strings on ? then again its obvious eh, the thing is though a beginner wouldnt know to do that and would miss out on a big improvement.
