1. A clean sheet.
2. 1 point.
3. 1 more point on Liverpool and Spurs with a game in hand.

However, we can't keep on missing opportunities to stretch our lead over the teams below us. Last week it was Fulham, this week it's Birmingham. rext week is a must win against Burnley as Chelsea play United on Sunday and we're away at Liverpool the following week.

Another concern is that the current top 3 are starting to break away, especially Chelsea and United. That leaves us in a dog fight with Liverpool, Spurs and Villa for 4th spot. Not good. We need to stay as close to the top 3 as much as possioble. Do that and we're in with a great chance of Europe.

As for the teams performance. Let's be honest, it isn't flowing, it isn't pretty, in fact it's very frustrating, but you have to remember that we're still picking up points while those around us are dropping points, apart from the top 3.

Once our injured players are back, we should start to perform much better. Should I really use that as a excuse? Let's all take a deep breath, savour 4th place and wait until after the Burnley game. By then we could be level with Arsenal(who are at Wolves next week, Sunderland after that and at home to Chelsea the following week) and only 3 points behind United(who are at Chelsea) with a game in hand.

jrb couldnt agree more.

Whats done is done today so move forward.

A Chelsea win next week is better than a scum win and a draw would be perfect as long as we win then that would make up for this weekend - and I think we have a great chance against the Scousers - we play better against the better teams.

Always dread games like Wigan and Brum away - they fight for eveything and sometimes it pays off.

Also the others around us will always drop points as well so cheer up.

Football often doesn't go as planned. Spurs and Newcastle have spent fortunes and are they any better off than us? Villa with the saint O'Neil and the new Baresi Dunne have been putting together a team for a while and are they any better than us? The same applies to Everton.

We can't go from average to world beaters overnight. Todays performance wasn't good but we have to be patient. If we finish 4th we will have had a good season.

jrb, I agree with some of your comments, but why are you worrying about who every other Tom, Dick, and Harry are playing. The fact Is that 4 draws on the bounce almost amount to 1 win and 3 loses. We need to worry about what we are doing not everyone else.
We look shit scared most of the time, even at home we pass the ball between the back 4, move It 10 yards forward then start heading back to our own goal. It's a lot of 10 yards back to go 15 yards forward, not to mention all this sideways crap. We have more pace than most In the prem and we need to learn to take the game to the oposition, not just sit back waiting for an opening to explote. The best form of defence Is attack, always has been. We need to go for the throat and stop pussy footing around. Move the ball forward quicly and use our pace, get the ball In the box. That keeper of theirs has'nt played a bloody game In the Prem this year, we should have pressured him from Min 1!..
No direction at all today, Santa Cruz 1/10 not fit and very slow.
Were miles off 4th spot with gutless performances like this. Birmingham are 4th bottom and their two forwards havent scored between them this year, we should and will have to bury teams like this If we want to progress. The record shows one loss this year In the prem, the reality Is we may have well lost 4 with the points dropped.
Burnley and Hull are must wins, and so Is Liverpool now for that matter.
Keep the faith, I am. But we have to get mean and moody and we need to do It every week!
