Ticket prices are now a problem at City

The club needs to wake up and realise that people cant afford all these games, kids for a £5 and £15 for adults, get the place buzzing with real fans.

They don't care, they just want customers' money.

they dont want real fans , they want a fan , who will buy the half and half scarf , spend a small fortune in the superstore and spend £50 on refreshments , The days of the crowd "buzzin" at a home game , sadly are history

For me one of the cup schemes had to give this year so I backed out of the Carling cup scheme. I'm beginning to regret it now, should have chucked the CL.

The club have been great in reducing prices for the League and FA Cup early rounds in recent years and the crowds and atmosphere have been great, they need a serious rethink with the Champions league.

In Germany they have it spot on.

It's just over £100 but a season ticket at Bayern Munich. The club even admitted they can afford to make it easier for fans, as in the grand scheme of things ticket money is not one of the biggest sources of income for a big club.

Paying £20 for a ticket before the takeover to seeing the ticket prices range from £50-60 for a premier league game, in that time my wage has gone up about 17p an hour, remember the happy days when i could afford to go home and away :(

Season ticket holders are opting out of the champions league as season cards are so expensive now , and the atmosphere was flat because of it.

37,509 for the most vital home game tells its own story. Manchester is one of the most deprived places in the country, even compared to the worst London boroughs, the new development/s behind the goals could end up a bit of an albino mammoth if prices continue to rise the rate they are.

What a way for the beginning of the end.

We've hit the highs of winning cups and leagues and now its doom doom doom.

Sadly all the doom comments are spot on.

Our club is morphing into what we always hated.

Thought you were going to break into James' Come Home :)

the way things are going this 3rd tier is going to become embarrassing if the marketing people at city don't sort this out, and its no good city saying 'look the stand is full' when all people have done is moved in from the other stands, the whole thing needs sorting out from the roots so a dad can take his three kids without a kings ransom being paid, empty stadiums don't look good and it has a knock on effect with the fans 'if its become shit then they don't bother going and so on'

Welcome to Etihad Stadium, Manchester in 2018-19 season.

sad but very true

Almost identical attendance to the Champions League games we had last season

I think a problem is being invented here although I do agree that ticket pricing in general is ridiculous. But that's because football in general is so popular and clubs will charge what they can get away with

It wouldn't of looked as bad if they hadn't ejected those dozen or so Roma fans just before halftime !

44k v Napoli, 43.6k v Dortmund - you can't compare Roma to CSKA or Victoria.

Charging me £50 more this season and i now get f*in wet when it rains due to building works. As Catherine Tate would say 'Fookin Liberty'

Why not? Were those on ITV? I can't remember. We got 38k and 37k last season against those two and with passing seasons the novelty of Champions League is wearing off.

But they're not getting away with it because they're not filling stadium

Can't escape the fact that the CL feels like a plastic competition. I went tonight but didn't really enjoy it. I don't know why because I used to love the Europa League. In fact I have only missed one European tie ever watching City and that was Ferenbache in 1968. I just can't get up for it. The old European Cup was a more interesting competition because it was knock-out matches with no seeding.

I am not sure if this has cheered me up or depressed me. We have looked forward to Champions League football for years. Being surrounded by plastic fans seem surreal. I can't get my head round why people do not come to the games (price aside). If this is the vision for the future of our great club - god help us.

Anybody trying to justify the prices just look at Bayern and Dortmund. Whilst I support caballero, his transfer fee alone could reduce every season ticket by £127, can we not trust Hart? Add Maicon and Sinclair, were talking £13-£15m in transfer fees plus wages for players we don't really need during the past three seasons.

A small impact on the team or a huge impact on the fans?

Roma are a decent draw, not the highest level but the same as Napoli and Dortmund. CSKA and Victoria are not.
