Ticket queues in Glasgow

It's quite amazing really. Even if you think that what's happening is ok, to not think there are problems faced by many supporters each and every time, or worse, acknowledge the problems but not give a fuck anyway says a lot about a person.
You keep fighting the good fight Squirty.

Says a lot about the person??? You must mean me as he was quoting my post.

Well given that I go to the matches as well and then have to 'suffer' these terrible events then excuse me if I consider your casual insult to be just lazy crap

I don't for one minute think this is done to stop points whores. No one ive spoken to or who have posted on here who went with Thomson's were asked for ID so how do city know these tickets all went to the correct people?
I know fans who couldn't get a ticket yet a couple of hundred city in the city tourists will be there on Sunday, the bulk I imagine with zero or minimal points and people seriously think city do this to ensure tickets get in the right hands!
On a personal note wasn't able to collect my ticket till just before 7 so finished up paying a tenner in a taxi rather than the planned train at £1.90 so besides the inconvenience as previously stated there's a cost elements to consider too

It just makes me think that they either don't go or they got their ticket off Mr Corporate

Bill and I've have discussed this loads of times since we trekked across a snowy Kiev when it was first introduced.
Not one person I spoke to in the queue yesterday was happy, despite what some have posted on here. Fair enough I didn't speak to everyone but there were loads of longstanding blues I see at most euro aways and they were not happy. The mood in the doorway with the two officials felt very ugly.

As to points whores, if there's so many of the fuckers how come I still see the same old faces I saw before this was introduced?

The first part of this I can assure you is wrong with regard to me

It's not about points,if it was its 5 or 6 games ,19 in the prem, give your tickets in that to who you want.

Am I supposed to be surprised by that, double standards as usual and treated like second class citizens.

Whatever happened to the supporters meetings which they used to hold with the club where you could voice your concerns, they miraculously disappeared overnight aswell?.........all the fans I speak to are starting to feel more distant from the club than ever before, what the fuck is going on?
Only a theory here but I'm left thinking since the takeover that the club want more of the tourist market in and less of the local market.
Why?

Well a tourist would have more of a disposable income, spending on club merchandise, willing to pay extra per seat for the match rather than having a season ticket.

Whereas the regulars do have season tickets, pay less per seat, don't buy merchandise every time we visit the stadium and we wouldn't use things like hotels and flights which tourists use.

Maybe with the increase of stadium capacity, they want to shift regulars into cheaper seats, and have a more upmarket day trip type experience for the tourists with on the day sales.

Pissing off the regulars could be the start of introducing this, so we don't go as often?

Again, only a theory so I could be way off the mark.

One thing I think we all agree on is that the process can and should be improved .

Just not abandoned and back to the old way please

All businesses want people who spend more money. Of course they do. It's not a club anymore it's a business. They had the money making model example less than 10 miles away. Price the regulars out and then move in the tourists. Worked a treat for many a year at the swamp.

As for moving regulars to cheaper seats, they have already done this in level 2 and to some extent the family stand. They know that a bloke with his kid is likely to spend more than your bloke who sees the match as a get in and get out exercise. Maximising revenue is their priority.

They probably couldn't give a shit who goes to away games other than protecting their platinum cash cow.

It all stinks but that's the way it is now unfortunately. The price of success.

Could they bring in some sort of accreditation process so that other travel companies (eg spike) could have a City rep on their trip to hand out tickets?

I did not say there was no downside did I - but if your rant makes you feel better well that's means my post was helpful - not bad for a sop and idiot.

Still stand my opinion though and I will be happy to continue to suffer such profound consequences to address what IMO is a significant problem - if I am allowed the right to have my own opinion.
You said ' I do not see much downside from this process---I really welcome it' and now you are saying IMO is a significant problem........make your mind up!!! By the way I think it is shit how it is done, and at Madrid I was stopped two or three times to show my ID and wristband

Pretty sure you're right with it being not designed to stop points whores it has done though looking at points sell out levels now, we got there just after a few coaches turned up about 12.45 and queued for around an hour most people in the queue were good natured one or two were having a rant at the two guys on the door they only do a job though its the club we need to bring it up with. We still had plenty of drink time and great day out, you're right about thomson trip though which is bang out of order there was no check as to who was who, don't think the ideas to bad but certainly needs to be better organised for sure in Gladbach personally it won't be a problem as we'll pick them up day before, its the daytrippers it needs to be sorted for.
