Ticket Transfer Issues

Just found this on the City website, that I’ve not seen mentioned on here, or communicated from the club yet.

If you want to transfer your ST to a non paid up member at ANY point during the season, you need to nominate them between this Monday 4th Aug and the following Monday, 11th Aug. You can nominate up to three people.

*If you’ve not nominated them by Monday 11th August, you won’t be able to transfer a ticket to them at any point during the season. ( Unless they pay for a membership)*

I assume it will become apparent how you nominate people on Monday, when the option opens.

Even more control, it’s like death by a thousand cuts. We’ve got 4 seats & whenever one can’t make it we take a family member or friend, but that extends to far more than 3 people, plus I always try to help out a young local lad whenever I can, he can’t afford the prices & has no chance of ever getting a ST. Added to that, the prospect of facial recognition, then you start to realise they want EVERY ticket returning to the club

playing devils advocate here but if people just pay the membership fee, there's no restrictions

(runs for cover!)

Yup another way to extort £35 out of fans. If you’re going to one game season for whatever reason it’s quite a chunk, on top of the ticket price. Especially when you’re paying for the privilege of handing over your data.

Most of the games are sold out or were anyway last season and the season before, and if you managed to snag a ticket or a lesser match you could only buy one so you had to sit on your own.

And as you say, all this and you data is bought too.

Now where do i sign up :)

It will only be apparent to those trying to transfer next week. It will be an issue for future transfers if the club don’t let people know. Thanks for sharing this info.

Useful to know. That will certainly restrict FB sales on sites like Man City Ticket Exchange where people pop up just asking for a random ticket.

WTF are they playing at? My son has just tried to transfer his ticket and found he can't do it. We've spent years juggling things around City games. It's truly getting too hard to do. Close to turning my back on them TBH.

What’s the issue? Is he trying to transfer to a member or non member?

He was trying to transfer the ticket to my wife who has her own supporter number and after being on hold for 90 minutes he managed to do it. My wife and grandson are the only ones who benefit from one of us not being able to make a given match. He was told that he could nominate another person but not until October(??). It was an easy solution in seasons past when one of us couldn't make it, now they've made it unnecessarily difficult. I guess they'd just rather have the ticket back so they can sell it to some club shop bag carrying transient visitor.

Good post mate. I raised this point several times a few months back and some posters saw it as an opportunity to stick the boot into the Face Value pages. Now we are seeing the impact of the restrictions.

To his credit, the guy who runs the Foodbank also saw this coming and raised it on Podcasts.
