Did I mention I'd been on Eggheads?
I had tickets for a gig for me and Mrs Screamer for yesterday in Boston (2 hours away - and no it wasn't The Bard Of Stretford before anyone asks) but Mrs Screamer went down with a dose of pneumonia over the weekend so we couldn't go.
No problem I thought, I'll list the tickets on their re-sale site....... But Ticketbastard wouldn't let me list them. A quick look at their website and they had lots and lots of resale tickets to shift, mostly at under face value.
No problem I thought, I'll flog them via Craigslist / fan messageboard etc - but Ticketbastard wouldn't let me transfer tickets.
In the end, I messaged 5 friends in the Boston area and offered them for free and had to give them my log in / password details for my Ticketbastard app and in they went under that method.

I bought those tickets and it is bang out of order that once bought, Ticketbastard can still control what I can (or can't) do with those tickets.
This links in with City and the control of tickets at games - bought months in advance - and how fans who genuinely can't go, get fucked over financially when all they want to do is get their money back or at least some of it back.

They're clamping down on the resellers mate, or touts as they're used to be called ....I know a guy in Florida who made nearly a million dollars in a year reselling tickets for major events.

I'm guessing ticketbastard are just trying to stop people getting ripped off who want tickets after all the resellers have bought them.

There must be ways of stopping this technology wise - simply stop the resale tickets at above face value.
I would have had no issue being able to list my tickets at face value / below - and them not being sold but at least give me the opportunity!

Ticketbastard are cunts. A lot of the gigs I've been to lately are using other agencies (Yard act used Dice and Dry Cleaning used another that I have forgot) and it has been a pleasant experience.
Yes, our tickets for The Bard Of Stretford in Boston in October are via Vivid Tickets - though my worry there is the Bard bailing out, not Mrs Screamer!

The issue with this gig is they advertised 2 nights and I think both struggled - where as had they advertised one night and if the demand was there added the 2nd night it would have been OK (or in this case they wouldn't have added the 2nd night)

Aren't the famous for running these scalping websites themselves? They don't care about people getting ripped off, they just want to make sure they're getting their cut when they do. I think it was Justin Bieber (or his team, at least) who was caught buying his own tickets and then reselling them for many times the price on their website.

Have you tried mentioning Eggheads and covered bridges to him?

It might tip the scales in your direction if he has any interest.

Yes I agree , but not everything is black or white, there should be way in which a genuine person can a refund. Maybe there should be an insurance element in ticket sales in cases like this . All these secondary sites are total con artists

I don’t buy many tickets through these sites but they normally offer insurance. I believe it’s usually about 10% of the ticket price but it’s optional and also might not cover everything. Tough call for some. For me I would usually buy it because I don’t go very often but you’d think regular purchasers would be offered a cheaper option (similar to annual travel insurance or products that come with some bank accounts).

Wanted a Weller ticket priced at £58 fv. It was £79 at checkout. Fuck that.

To be fair I don't think it's Ticketmaster. it's down to the venue /promoter to enable resales and transfers.I bought my mum Strictly tickets and she got an appointment for a new knee,Thicketmaster wouldn't let me re sell or transfer but when I looked into it it was down to the promoter not allowing the option to be enabled.
