Tijjani Reijnders

Liked his goal last night. Good movement in behind and a composed finish - all from a midfield position. Something we've been lacking a bit this season.
 
I've always been a fan. Cant say No. But we have to understand its an either or not both.

Its either him or Wirtz and not both

Why? I view Reijnders as an 8. Wirtz as a 10.

Do you just mean money?

Money, number of available slots, positional versatility etc.

They both will occupy that creative midfielder role. W have ro recognize we have lots of players already who arent leaving.

I dont see us buying 2 CMs unless all 4 older players leave. I think at a minimum, one will stay ( Kovacic) an wed have Rodri, Gonzo, Kova, new guy. (Wirtz or Tijjani). AM we already have Marmoush, Foden, Bobb, Doku, Echeveri, Savio at a minimum for just 2 - 3 spots and the prior 4 for the other 2 spots. And that doesn't include Lewis or Mctee who might still be here

I guess it all depends on who leaves. If we lost Bernie, Gundo, Kov, Nunes as well as Kev we’d need more midfielders. That’s still a big if though.

Especially with O’Reilly and Mukasa (expected break through next season).

MGW. Wharton and Reijnders still all possible based on incomings/outgoings. I think we are waiting to see if we get Wirtz and if we do there will be much less panic.

Agreed, but that's a lot of movement. I feel Kova will def be here and Gundo is 50/50.

Agree it’s probably too much movement. I think Kov and Gundo will stay but the rest are off.

MGW for me is the Bernie replacement in the middle and is the engine. Wirtz would be the Kev replacement. I’d love to see O’Reilly get minutes here as well.

Wharton and Reijnders would be great to replace Kov and Gundo. We might see Wharton stay at Palace another year but I’m unsure. We’ve definitely been asking again but we normally ask about a lot of players let alone when rebuilding with a new DoF so this will be through the roof.

I guess if we don’t get Wirtz there will be a back up plan. Which might be Simons or might be sign one of those mentioned/someone else that’s more of a 8 and hope Foden, Marmoush and MGW if signed can hold it down for a year.

Also think if Jack goes we will sign a winger. Savio/Doku/Bobb/Foden/Marmoush seems a lot but think we’d replace him. Could be another wide 10 like signing if Wirtz is a no go.

Another fun summer for sure!!

Bouaddi will be 18 for the Jan window move, there's your 3rd mid if they need one :p

Pep and city as a club now realise after this season we need 2 players for each position at a bare minimum.i expect 2 mids and 1 to 2 fullbacks maybe 1 or 2 goalkeepers that's 5 or 6 players so expect 2 to 3 departures.

I hope not Simons. Think we already have his profile in Marmoush. Id rather someone who can link up play, great passing skills, good vision and with some steel. Tijjani and Fritz being better fits for that.


Im not a big fan of MGW, I'd rather keep Macca. But that's just me

Ive said my ideal is Wharton and Reijnders for one deeper and one higher.

Wirtz feels just too unlikely. Plus those means one can be homegrown.
 
Wharton only makes sense since he is English. Nico and Rodri are already deep. It Gundogan stays then with Reijnders we would have 5 CM if we include Reilly.
