Surely more...

If the proposed signings work out, we'll have a very flexible squad that can play different formations and styles of play with ease.

We'd have inside forwards like Marmoush, Foden, Bobb, Cherki with the width provided by the FBs in a 4-3-3, we'd also have more traditional wingers in Doku and Savinho for when we want to play that way.

Foden, Bobb and Cherki could also play as a 10 in a 4-2-3-1 formation. We'd have the players to effectively play 4-4-2, 4-4-1-1 or 3-5-2 as well.

Lots of very flexible attacking options and good ones at that.

It would make team predictions nigh on impossible though ;-)
When everybody is fit and firing and back to their usual self (Foden), those 3 are all BALLERS.

Watching them in the middle, dribbling and linking up will be a joy to watch.

And all 3 are flexible as you said, so there are alot of systems that work.

The 2 we finished last season with did pretty well, look how we missed them at Southampton. But I imagine one or two full backs will be coming in to (not even June yet), Ryan Ait Nouri looks likely
I agree they will of course bring someone (hopefully two) in but if they didn’t for some reason it would be a catastrophic error. Shifting midfielders to fb isn’t the solution

Not fully convinced. Will be 27 shortly and only really has last season at anywhere close to the standard we need. It's a weird age, either sign the absolute best around at that kind of age or go younger and get the future best. Say he takes the usual 18 months to fully settle, he's going to be fastly approaching 30 by the time we see the best of him.

We've got rodri back, kovacic freed up for the 8 as a result, nico has just come in and barely featured, bernardo put in strong performances there, you've then got Rico Lewis and o'reilly both wanting to play in their natural position, the experience of gundo too to support those and all for just 2 positions and that's not even an extensive list of options. Seems too much for a manager that's not wanting a big squad.

You were cooking untill you got to the bolded portion. Bernardo and Gundo showed significant signs of aging this season. The flashback performances late in the season notwithstanding. And O'Reilly and Lewis arent elite yet.

Serie A's best midfielder of the season, is at a minimum a good signing. Im with you, i generally want our signings unser 26. But you have to make fee exceptions.

Here are a couple of exceptions we've made over the years when they joined.

Yaya 28
Fernandihno 28
Garreth Barry 28
Lescort 27
Otamendi 27
Mahrez 27

Ir tends to work out when they are high quality players already in their prime and they come in woth orhers who are younger and entering their prime.

If we get!
Rudolph 27
Air Nouri 24
Cherki 21
Livramento 22
Coata 25
Gibbs White 25
Marmoush 26
Khusanov 21
Gonzalez 24
Reis 20

That would be a fantastic 1 year haul for range of ages.

A lot of words to say he’s 26.

Dinho was 28 when we signed him.

Fernandinho 28 when we bought him from a worse league..

Only at city players apparently need 18 months to adapt . They don’t. Pep just won’t play them unless your NAME is too big to sit on the bench.
So many who played good from the start and ended up back on the bench for whatever reasons.
