Just heard this from Stan Colleymore, on Talksport and he may have a point! He was ranting about how both Everton and Arsenal, who play this style, have under-achieved (especially Everton, under Martinez). Plus, look at Leicester who play a sort of opposite-of-tiki-taka, conceding possession and then fast break-away attacks.

Are other City fans confident that Pep Guardiola is versatile enough to adapt to the rough and tumble of the EPL, or will he stick to what he knows?

Furthermore, is it possible to succeed both domestically and in Europe, if it is indeed true that Tiki-Taka doesn't work in England? Could a team play one way on the weekend and then differently during mid-week???

People who have seen my other posts, know I'm a supporter of Pelligrini, but even I acknowledge that although in the ECL he has made progress, I do accept that we have regressed, in the Prem. Is it because we have played in a 'European-style' whilst something else is needed in this most competitive of leagues?

Read Pep Confidential he states he hates tika taka and adjusts his tactics to the players and situation.
Whether he can adjust to the premiership is not certain but I give him a pretty good chance

One thing guardiola expects is 100% work rate
Everton and arsenal, not to mention us are lazy. It works if you work as hard as the opposition.
With quality players with a hard work ethic you can't fail.

"Just heard this from Stan Colleymore, on Talksport and he may have a point" That's as far as I got. Take your meds.

Point taken! Thanks to the other responses, it has cheered me up a bit - I don't really follow Spanish/German football in-depth & I read that Pep has sort-of failed with Bayern, cos of no Champions League. The Budesleague titles are a given, due to it being a bit uncompetative*, which is certainly not what he will find over here.

*I mean, its like the second placed team (Dortmund) is the feeder club for the champions! which is a bit weird.

SaTAN does not have a ficking clue what he talks and I am sure he doesn't even know himself either. Pep hates the term tiki-taka, and any person who does the faintest bit of research can find this info.....but this of course doesn't fit the bill of talk sport and the way stories need to be portrayed to a certain clientele

As others have said Pep himself hates the idea of passing for passings sake.

The other point i'd make is have you seen how a pep team defends? It couldn't be further from the lazy style employed by Arsenal and Everton who view it as a chore. He's actually closer to Poch at Spurs than Wenger I'd suggest, when he left Barca Poch was in the frame as his successor to for similar reasons.

I rarely look at Everton and think what a fantastic passing side they are! They gift possession away too easily. Arsenal at times can play great football, which they showed in flashes against us on Sunday, but they lack quality and strength where it matters. With the right blend we will rip it up in the Premier League under Pep, I'm sure!

If you can, watch the Bayern come back against Juve, there was no Tiki Taka there. They played with three right wingers (Coman Costa and Lahm were taking it in turns to run up the right wing, sometimes two of them did it, sometimes all three at once) and dashed fantastic crosses into the box for twenty minutes.

I will again recommend to anyone who has not read it...Pep Confidential. He talks about his disdain for the idea of Tiki-Taka. Overall a wonderful book that will give anyone a great idea of what to expect in his first year here.
