He said he thought with the money spent on each, Paulinho would be better value for money or end up the better signing. I can see why he thought that at the time n'all. We look back with hindsight and see he was wrong but everything leading up to his comment would say he may well have been correctAlways take his opinions with a pinch of salt after he said Paulinho was better than Fernandinho.
To be fair to Vickery he actually says he gets a lot wrong. He said he thought with the money spent on each, Paulinho would be better value for money or end up the better signing. Apologies to the OP but the man is an idiot. This is the guy who said Paulinho was a much better player for the PL than Fernandinho, and also that Funes Mori would never be able to play in the PL.
He repeats himself with the same things week after week on TS, /QUOTE]
The media collectively have failed to see how good Fernandinho is, something I find very hard to understand. I even remember him once featuring in an article about the Brazilians City have wasted money on.
Apart from that the media rarely criticise him even though we paid a lot of money for him - so there could be a grudging secret admiration for him.
Vickery always comes over well when I have heard of him but that could be down to how little I know about most South American players and the fact that Vickery does not carry the bitterness the English resident reporters do. Many South American players never live up to their reputations in the PL and at City especially.
