Time for a wage cap?

Interesting article in the Guardian today by Jason Stockwood, the chair of Grimsby Town, arguing for a wage cap and for more regulation of agents and agents' fees. Obviously, he's not impartial on the subject, but I thought it was an thought-provoking read. (Also please be reassured he doesn't mention City or 'state-owned' clubs once).

If the price you had to pay for footballers getting a wage cap meant you had YOUR wages capped, would you go for it?
Be careful of folks wanting other folks wages curbed. This grimsby town owner isn't capping his own wages in solidarity, is he?

Has the cap worked in the ladies game ?

Dont we keep losing our good players as they get offered more money from teams like Barcelona. Barcelona who havent got a pot to piss in offer better terms than City !

To me a wage cap benefits the average pro football but the world class will more away to another league. So the pl would be left with just average pros.
