2 seasons ago we didn't score a single goal at home for months
last season we won 6 games in 21 (league & cup games from Jan 08) and a handful of away games. On the day United won the league we lost 8-1 to an average team. Regardless of any situation with Sven we the fans are due some effort & loyalty.
The bulk of this squad is still around. We keep faith in Hughes and let him try and sort it out OR we keep faith with a squad that is either poor or seriously under performing OR we hope that some other manager is able to polish a poo. There seems to be something wrong in the dressing room - we don't know what that is. Hughes might have caused it or some players might be unmanagable - it's probably a combination of both but it is up to ADUG to assess it and decide. Regardless of any situation with Hughes we the fans are due some effort & loyalty.
The way I see it at the moment we have the opportunity to cure a disease or just mask its symptoms. Is Hughes the man to lead us to full health? I don't know but every big manager has had to prove himself somewhere. Maybe Hughes is the scalpel will need now and the rehab comes later. Or maybe the analogy is just poor.
