STEPHEN IRELAND has urged Shay Given to quit Manchester City.
The Aston Villa midfielder escaped from Eastlands after being frozen out by City boss Roberto Mancini and fears the same could happen to Given.
Given has been forced onto the bench by Joe Hart though Mancini wants him to stay.
Ireland said: "I would like to see Shay go. He needs to be playing every week.
"He is far to be good to be left sitting on the bench. He is a brilliant person and the best goalkeeper I have ever played with.
"He deserves first team football."

The guy is showing his immaturity and his vindictiveness. He is clearly very screwed up and proving that Mancini was right to kick him out as he hasn't the mental equipment to cope. Within six months he will be on Villa's bench at best and be moaning about that to the press. Do yourself a favour Stevie grow up.

TBH Ireland is turning into more and more of a complete and utter **** with every day that pass's. Sorry but who paid his wages for the last few years? Fucking twat should be grateful that he was earning £50K+ a week for sitting on a bench for the last 12 months.
