Times: Milner Seeking Urgent Talks with Villa

Milner will sign IMO. Comments on ssn say it all for me he has been quoted as saying he has enjoyed (past tense) his time at villa and he is flattered by citys interest and wants to win tropheys in his career.

I think this will be rapped up well before the world cup. Just villa doing there PR of we didn't want to sell him but he wanted to leave when all along they were selling makes them look good and us like the villan no pun intended!

Looks like Villa fans will finally have to come to terms with who the bigger club is.

I am sure that was said slightly tongue in cheek. Villa like us have a good history. Thay have won the European cup as well. We can buy their players because we have been very lucky in attracting an owner with serious cash.

A club I like especially as we always beat them.

Milner is an excellent player, both Ireland and Johnson have the potential to be better than him but need to concentrate on sorting out the space between their ears.

Gerrard was and possibly still is world class, watching him play at his best reminds me of Colin Bell, he can change gear and leave players flailing after him and like Bell he hardly appears to be moving as he does it. The pair of them looked like they were floating above the pitch.

At +£30mil for milner is a lot but looking back at and comparing with Robbie then it looks slightly more swallow-able. If he comes then great but I'd still have a go at getting Gerrard to give us another world class midfielder.

You can't deny he is world class, he just had a poor season compared to his previous constant high form performances.

Maybe for Ireland but MJ didn't have a problem mentally, it was his injuries that stopped him from getting fit.

I still think MJ is a better option in midfield than Ireland.

MJ had all kinds of problems, thats why he took so long to come back from injury last time.
