Can anyone offer advice regarding this, my wife has a 2008 Range Rover Sport, its in great condition, have spent quite a bit on it over the last 6 years of ownership...anyway its done 105.000 miles and its due for new timing belts!
Expensive !!! So is it worth getting it done, then something else goes wrong? (they are absolute money pits) or should i just take the chance and run it into the ground ?

Get it done!

If a timing belt snaps (and it's usually under high load on the engine) it can be pretty catastrophic. 99 times out of 100 it's a new engine job, or at least new pistons, valves and cam shafts if you wanted to repair the engine (it's usually not worth it).

Get them replaced!!!
Thats the thing, because the car is old is it worth keep spending money on it ? Or just keep driving it until something major goes wrong and then get a new car ?

Those cars are notoriously high maintenance. What it will cost to get done + future bills v's what you will get trade in is a tricky calculation.

If you are keeping it then full service is the only way to go.

I'd want to get out of it. It's worth looking at a big car dealers stock and getting a quote on what it's worth and what you could trade for.

Good idea

If you are going to run it into the ground, you run the risk that it will give up the ghost at the most inopportune moment when you are miles away from home and in a hurry to get somewhere.

As has already been said, either get it serviced if you are going to keep it or trade it in whilst it still has some value left in it.

take the hit on the sale and get rid
I know all about these cars lovely when they run not so when they don’t.
Start again on a newer model leave the timing belt cost to someone else

We buy any car has offered a decent price for it, if i knew the timing belt wasn't to go in the next 12/18 months i would keep it, the wife only does around 2/3 thousand miles per year in it.
