Timing Belt Advice

Find out. Timing belts on a run of the mill car need changing 50 - 70 k, a chain could technically go on for a hell of a lot longer...a lot of older Mercs had twin timing chains and as the Nigerian taxi drivers knew, they had intergalactic mileage on them.

175k on my 2.2 litre Vito and that's nothing compared to some, rust will kill my van before anything else.

Sell it on. I never buy a car with a timing belt, it's an unnecessary expense in owning a car having to have it changed.

We buy any car has offered a decent price for it, if i knew the timing belt wasn't to go in the next 12/18 months i would keep it, the wife only does around 2/3 thousand miles per year in it.
As somebody else has said…. A big national dealership, trade in!
