Tito Vilanova RIP (page 12)

Re: Tito Vilanova

Bielsa would be incredibly interesting, he'd bring life back into the side, wouldn't be scared to go against the grain and wouldn't be afraid to move Messi to suit the needs of the team (the false 9 system is becoming less of a threat / easier to combat), but I don't think Barcelona will approach him. He's a nutter, couldn't handle a job as big as this.

Apparently, AVB has a clause in his Spurs contract that he is free to go if Barcelona calls.

This sounds completely made up.

Looks very likely, Odds have gone from 33/1 to 1/2

Re: Tito Vilanova

Tata Martino is the new Barcelona coach. Very bold choice as he has never coached in Europe before, but has a good reputation in South America just like Pellegrini did.

With that said, if Pellegrini was still available I'm 99% sure they would have gone for him - he would be perfect for Barca and we are lucky to have him.

BREAKING NEWS: Gerardo Martino is the new Barcelona manager and has already signed, according to 3 of the 4 spanish sport papers

This guy played 488 domestic games for Newell's Old Boys and has just come out of managing them winning the Primera División Torneo Final.

He holds the record of appearances with the team playing a total of 505 matches in all official competition

He was also selected in a fan's poll as Newell's best player throughout the club's history

When you think about it, Messi's old club is Newell's and is from Rosario, Martino is from Rosario.

Very good appointment for Barcelona and Messi.

Left field appointment.
My bet is that they really wanted Pellegrini.
