it is really annoying me now at alot of people in general complaining about the way in which this wonderful club is going about its buisness regarding our financial muscle.Let me just state this to everyone who seems to be jelous of this club and to all those who constanly moan about our wealth and current status!

This football club has had it tough and all of us have aswell! if there is one club in this world that deserves success it is manchester city football club,our club!no other team could have the support that we had on that rainy night in lincoln when we got thrashed and same for the likes of wycombe.

now if i remember rightly the premier league in this day and age is a very very compettitve league,and anybody and any team will do anything to succeed.now i wonder if other clubs had our wealth would they complain I DONT THINK SO! and it really pee's me off when i hear people comming on the radio saying we are ludacris for giving so and so this wage or splashing out millions on different players from around england and the conteinant when they would do the same if they had our wealth.the difference is we have it because we deserve it morethan any other club in the world,so to all those pundit and other little bitters from other clubs need to realise that its happened to us because this is gods club and he has decided we deserve it more than anybody,our time has come and now we are privildege to be in the position! so lets enjoy the moment and lets splash our cash,Why not aye? because we deserve it! weve suffered a long time now and this beast of a football club is on the rise and everybody is worried! lets do it folks!

In the transfer market we've gone from being 'underdogs' to 'top-dogs.' Previously it always seemed like we were punching above our weight, trying to land big-name stars who had already peaked, just to give us a little glamour. Now we have the financial muscle to pay up-front in full if we wish. Heady days !

I was saying to my brother-in-law earlier today, that the current owners do not do business like we've been used to. Its a whole new era, and maybe the critics don't like it. But TOUGH - they'd better get used to it. Ten year plan, and still in the first year (anniversary is end of August I believe.)
 
I don't think most reasonable fans hate us now were rich, there is certainly jealousy but I dont think ur every day everton or west ham fan etc, would begrudge us success. Any real footy fan knows we r the most loyal and unanswerable fans in the land and all the world. Great first post by the way.

mcfcdave, with our team suddenly becoming high profile, the media and their readers have become truly hungry for articles about our business. We can't forget that the arabs have changed the dynamics of the EPL and the established teams do not like this.

Thus far, have had bad press - have hope because bad press is a temprorary experience - the papers will move on to the next story when.... (and I do believe this to be true and this year), our team wins silverware or CL football to boast about.

When this happens - watch the stories suddenly turn into ones that you will be proud to read. Up until then, this is the state of play. Don't let the greasy media and critics get a rise out of you - for it is only you that will have high blood pressure. The reporter is laughing all the way to the bank.

Endnote - the media and the EPL know that we are building something big but, until this happens - please hold your breath, stop getting angry and annoyed about negative articles. Start laughing at the stories - take the piss about the reporter. That's what I'm doing. The reporters and critics are ugly twats anyway - so their picture could do nicely for a 'take the piss' picture thread.

My mantra is "City WILL have the last laugh and I for one is hoping that this day will come round very very soon..."

Keep the faith because the future is indeed blue.

Look on the Bright side Bluesyob.....Its because we are minted and going for big players and gonna break the top 4 monopoly...thats why we are being slagged off.

Im all for being slagged off in those circumstances...
 
end of the day any club would have given their soul to have our investment (something we havent done but get constantly get called for doing). and look where we have come in just one year

The only people to complain though are the fans of other clubs, and the rag press, any club chairman or any player has the right to turn our offers down and stay put. No one holds a gun to the players head and says "sign for city" no one holds a gun to the chairmans head and says "you must accept this bid" We have gone about it in the right way by making offers to the clubs if we sign the player all well and good if we don't we move on. I couldn't give a monkeys cuss what anybody thinks of us.

I don't think we'll ever be anywhere near as hated as the rags are.
Most football fans have a bit of a soft spot for us because not only have we won sod-all but we take the piss out of ourselves, too. No matter how grave our situation has been in the past, we've always managed to have a bloody good laugh at ourselves. Nobody does gallows humour like we do. And other fans respect us for it. They see how we react when yet again we manage to shoot ourselves in the foot, and they admire us because we just laugh it off and say: "Typical City!"

You contrast that with the surly, arrogant rag fans. If they lose a game it's because they were robbed, the ref was biased - there's always some excuse for them. They can never accept that teams lose games now and again. It happens. They believe their team have a divine right to win anything and everything, and any team who beats them should be punished.

The rags have had that siege mentality for so long now that it's like a second skin to them. They try to emulate the manager and throw tantrums when it's somebody elses turn to be flavour of the month.
When Portsmouth won the FA Cup, every single rag fan I met afterwards complained that it should have been them at Wembley lifting the trophy. They said things like: "Who the fuck are Portsmouth, anyway? Some little tin-point team from the coast."
Rather than just say: "Good on, you. Enjoy your day", they were bitter and resentful.



I don't think any true City fan will ever become like that.

They're churning out what jealous fans want to hear in order to sell chip wrapper/get hits, its a sports writer's business. Water off a ducks back (mainly), seriously, don't allow it to interfere with enjoying what is happening at our club over the next few years. We'll have our knocks along the way but we're going to the top. These gobshites mean fuck all, the future of City is bright.
