To anyone who booed at half time yesterday...

Booing is part of the modern game.

In the current economic climate, with people paying escalating cost to go to watch football and footballers earning fortunes, I think that some people feel that the least they should get in return is a bit of desire on the pitch...which wasn't evident in the slow, lacklustre first half.

Didn't boo myself, but certainly felt like it. If people wanna boo, let them...they paid their money.

Money has nothing to do with it.
And if people don't think city players have a desire to win after winning the league last year and winning from a goal behind and down to 10 men away from home just 7 days previously then they need to have a serious rethink

Really ? So why do some clubs refund tickets for fans when the team has performed poorly...because they know the fans expect a level of desire and commitment on the pitch.

At what point do you draw the line ? If the players played every game like the first half on Sat would it still just be a case of 'support your club' ? Sorry but yeah you buy a ticket to support your club, but at the same time win or lose you expect some kind of effort.

Yes you've used West Brom as an example, but apart from that game, Fulham and Sunderland there have been some lacklustre, sloppy performances where we don't start playing until we're a goal behind.

Booing is rag-gish even a tad ****, but i think it may have given the boys a boot up the arse sat.

Thing is i don't think there is any way on earth it would have done. Do you think players like yaya, kompany and tevez need a couple of hundred people booing to make them play better? Booing serves absolutely no purpose

It's not about making them play better....it's about voicing discontent.

I do not agree with it either, but i take it you've heard of the 'twelth man'?
I am sure it works both ways....

Btw, those players should be giving their all EVERY TIME, they go over that white line, without encouragement or objection.

Go and ask city for half of your money back for saturday and see how far you get. I may be wrong (maybe happened with boro away but don't think it did) city have never once refunded fans - nor should they. It's sport and sometimes in sport games don't go the way you would hope - you don't just get your money back you just man up and get behind the team. It's not about YOU and how much money you've paid, it's about Manchester City.
And you honestly think city players weren't putting in effort in the first half? Of course they were - they weren't on form clearly but that doesn't mean they were trying and to suggest they weren't trying is about as damning a comment you can make on players of the calibre of yaya etc etc.
And you're using games as examples that we won - we beat fulham and we beat sunderland - we won those games and people are saying it's right to boo? It beggars belief.

Do you not think the players were trying in the first half? Or do you think it may be a case of fatigue after a midweek away match in the champions league, injuries and a loss of form/confidence for one or two players? I'd say the latter is far more likely and something booing would be unlikely to help resolve

I never said I wanted my money back. I used it as an example to say that it DOES happen.

My point is that if people pay their money they are entitled to voice their feelings how they like.
And my point about West Brom, Fulham and Sunderland is that they're the only games that we've looked truly on it so far this season. i.e. Swansea 1st half performance isn't the only one of its kind this season.

I'm not hear to argue anyway...I'm just making a point that people have the right to boo if they want. I'm certainly not going to let a few booing get my back up as much as it seems to have others in this thread....mainly the 'mightier than thou' City fans. Couldn't care less what others do...it's their money, their principles and their life. Get over it.

No i'm not here to argue either and i certainly don't have my back up. It doesn't ruin my enjoyment of going to the match. As i said earlier in the thread people can indeed do what they want as long as they don't break stadium rules. But that doesn't mean that the vast majority of city fans choose not to boo and probably think doing so is pretty pathetic behaviour just because they've paid their money
