Ask them how else can it be achieved ?

They have done it for 20 years

Blackburn did it with Jack Walkers money

Chelski did it with Romans dough

Huge amounts of money is the only way to break into the cartel operating at the top table of English football, the Champs League monies have flowed into their coffers for 2 decades...

Arsenal Whinger doesn't like it as City have taken Arsenals place last season.

Even if you add the money that our owners have put into the club to our generated income over the last five years, it doesn't match the amount of income United generate.

Remember that Ferdinand was on £5m+ a year wages in 2005!

We've had to buy at inflated prices, and pay inflated wages, and still our spending isn't hugely different to United.

In an age when a club's financial reports are published as 'news' on Sky, it's an embarrassment that fans of the two biggest clubs (moneywise) in the country, Arsenal and United, think they've been running on a shoe string - and that their success has been down to great management!

£487.4million ferguson has spent on players at United.

does that include academy graduates like wooney, wio and jones?

You have to remember we have paid our way, we owe no one, never ever forget this. The success those twits they call fans think success is down to paying the likes of the transfer fee of Aguero & Silva every year in interest to buy 12 titles. If they had to balance the books under FFP their history would be as good as Accrington Stanleys.
Just remember that rancid meat sold to schools for our kids does not build an empire, just puts kids in graveyards or survivors who remember that you shouldn't look under toilet doors. They can keep their history it means fuck all when you also realise that even though some players survived 58, they will still take your house back off you because you can't play any longer through your injuries, and then sell it to pay for the evil to continue or fund Cuntona's appearance fee for the 50yr commemoration.
We are different, we are impeccable remember this, as we would not think like them, nor should we ever behave like them, that's why they can't get into our fair CITY.
If they knew their history they would support someone else.

You'd think we were the only team ever to have bought players. Rags have short memories and they have long been responsible for breaking transfer records e.g. Law '62 £115.000, Robson '81 £1.5m, Cole '95 £7m, Veron '01 £28.1m, Ferdinand '02 £29.1 as well as other transfer records such as Pallister '89 £2.3m - most expensive defender, and Rooney '04 £25.6m - most expensive teenager.

Add this to other expensive imports since the Premier League started, and there most successful period, Jones/De Gea/Young/Smalling/Hernandez/Bebe/Lindeguard/Valencia/Obertan/Diouf/Berbatov/Tosic/Tevez/Nani/Kuszczak/Anderson/Hargreaves/Da Silva's/Carrick/Evra/Vidic/Foster/Van de Sar/Park/Heinze/Smith/Saha/Ronaldo/Kleberson/Howard/Djemba-Djemba/Bellion/Ricardo/Forlan/Carroll/Bartez/Silvestre/Taibi/Fortune/Yorke/Blomquist/Stam/Greening/Berg/Nevland/Sheringham/Cryuff/Poborsky/Solskjaer/Johnson/May/Keane/Cantona/Dublin amongst others.

Rags have been consistent big spenders over the years, paying biggest transfer fees and wages as they have been one of the most wealthiest clubs.

My question is, does this not constitute buying success????? With Champions League money and money from TV the rich only get richer and the only way to break the mould is to invest in bigger and better players - you only have to look at Scotland and Spain where the 2 biggest and wealthiest clubs dominate the leagues and it hard for any other team to break in to the top and overtake these without big investment, otherwise it just stays as a monopoly of the bigger clubs.

This is just owners reinvesting in their business to make it successful.

If some one bought an up and coming company, and decided that im goin to go hire the best managers, the best salesmen, the best pr firm. Build a new building. Just part of business but in sport you have to earn your right to spend money no other business does it matter where the money comes from. Just odd to me as a businessman.

and Van der Sar, straight from Altrincham he is.

I want to know how much that £487m would be when adjusted for inflation. A £2.3m defender like Pallister for example, would have cost Fergie double that in today's money. That 1992 squad would have been worth £72m more than what Fergie paid in late 80's money.

If every player Fergie bought had been adjusted for inflation i reckon £600m is the more accurate amount Fergie's spent during his tenure.

Ive learnt thats there is no point in trying to argue with any other football fan who has an issue with our "wealth"....so much so that i fully embrace it...

Agree with them, that yes we're buying it all...and its feckin brilliant...it pisses them off even more :-)

How much would Veron and Rio's transfer fees be with inflation factored in? Especially Veron, near £30m in 2001, bloody hell!
