Today's shooting in America thread

A sad indictment of that country.

All the things we do to protect our children (cupboard locks, plug socket covers, tethered blind cords, tamper-proof detergent bottles, etc.) and this Muppet had a loaded pistol in her bag within reach of a 2 year old. Beggars belief.

"One little girl was just covered in blood, head to toe,” Garza said. “I thought she was injured, I asked her what was wrong, and she said she was OK. She was hysterical saying that they shot her best friend, that they killed her best friend and she’s not breathing. That she was trying to call the cops. And I asked the little girl the name of her friend, and she said Amerie.” - how Alfred Garza, a first responder, found out his daughter was one of the victims in the school shooting.

I simply cannot comprehend this.

Sky News reporting that since the shooting in Uvalde (23 May) 730 people have been shot dead in the States. It's only been 2 fucking weeks!
A huge amount. Did they break it down at all?
I believe a large amount of shootings are carried out with unregistered guns by criminals in the course of their crimes?

I don't think they have broke it down into individual causes.
They say there were 650 incidents resulting in 730 deaths. 66 were teenagers & 23 were children.
I'd guess most of these are due to gang or domestic issues.
