Britain is more intertwined with America to any other place - technology, business, culture, language, fashion, tv/film, foreign affairs … the list is endless.

A lot of Brits have this opinion that they’re so loved by Yanks, most definitely not true, in fact most people are fairly derogatory towards England. Americans are made up from such a diverse group of people, why love England unless you’re of descent?

Is this true? Most brits don’t think about it from one year to the next. Those that do view US as inclined to isolationism.

45 million people identify as being of English heritage in the USA, 31.5 million have Irish heritage.

I suspect most people aren't derogatory towards England at all, probably just the usual suspects who can't stand their own country either.

Tbh it was an off the cuff response to one of the usual anti US comments on this site. I’ve been here for thirty five years now and people have been nothing but hospitable to me. Maybe it’s because I’m beautiful and hard as nails….:)
