Haven't read the book but as its Cruise I think it's shit casting anyway
 
I always imagined someone a bit more Clint-Eastwood in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly than Cruise. Someone who kind of oozes that no-nonsense toughness.

Perhaps Mickey Rourke if he was a bit younger. Actually, it could have been a good role for WWE wrestler John Cena who seems to be getting into the movies. He's big and square jawed and tough looking but has that hint of homeliness that Reacher has
 
I always imagined a someone a bit like Dolph Lundgren (looks wise), like Mickey Rourke though he's getting on a bit.

Cruise is just woeful, woeful casting. It's a real shame as there's not a chance I'll go and see it despite the book having a cracking plot for transferring to film. There's about 10 good ones though so hopefull there's a chance of Reacher being recast...
