Tommy Muir RIP : minutes applause on 71 mins

Seen him on many awaydays of yesteryear, though i didn't know him enough to have had any conversations of sorts, just the regular courteous "alright blue" or nodding terms when passing him by as he had one of those familiar ever-present faces.

RIP Tommy.

Sad news indeed. The last time I saw Tommy was in the Jolly angler , must have been over ten years ago- had a couple of pints and a chat pre- match.

The George was a top pub when he was the landlord.

My condolences to his family & close friends

Just heard the devastating news of Tommy Muirs passing. A bigger blue you will not meet.

Met him at 17 when he ran the kenny in cheadle hulme , played for the footy team there with him and then me and my pals followed him to the george and dragon (following a landlord from pub to pub seemed a thing back then).

The george was THE city pub back then. We all played for the football team and was our local for years , until tommy left and we stopped going in.

Many an away game with tommy. Head of the cheadle blues

A hard man, a fair man, a loyal man, ex soldier, huge blue, RIP Tommy
Top blue who through the Cheadle supporters club was a fantastic servant for supporters. RIP.
My wife and Tommy became good friends when he worked at the BBC, she is very upset at the news.
Seen some posts on FB to get a round of applause on 71 minutes tomorrow, could you amend your title to include it?

Read before how a minutes applause is doing the rounds. Considering one has been circulating on the 27th minute for a young lad too, can't the club just put them on the screens pre match prior to teams coming out for a little clap? I get the sentiment behind it all but it is nearly every game an applause for something else. On top of them being remembered late December too.

If you can get the club to do that I reckon you would have a fukin good chance of negotiating world peace!
