What happened to it, the programme I mean.

If you look back 15/20 years ago we didnt really have the internet, we had big televisions that were 4 foot deep and had only 4 channels, only landline phones, desktop computers, you had to use a map for directions etc.

Fast forward to now and no doubt you would be amazed at the progress. But what has happened over the last 5-6 years? Yes there have been advancements in what we already have but I can't think of any new significant technology recently - tvs are bigger and clearer, phones and computers are smaller and can do more, even cars have just had things improved rather than anything new of any great note.

So what can you see happening over the next 15-20 years - are we reaching a plateau where there is less we are able to do with whats available to us.

So what do you need that we don't already have? This is pretty much the question that leads to innovation. Once the need comes, the technology will follow.

It also really depends on what you mean by technology. Are you just interested in the high level devices ( what the user sees and experiences ) or the low level parts?

We desperately need viable hydrogen fuel cells and the ability to produce large amounts of hydrogen and also nuclear fussion to meet our future energy demands.

All people annoy me, I just picked Australia as they seem to be invading England anyway ;)
Im in Australia from the 14th onwards so im sure I will be thoroughly angry for 21 days

One technology which seems to have stagnated is sex-dolls. They still look the same now as 30 years ago. Surely modern technology could come up with a really great artificial fanny?
Once we get this cracked, along with housework robots we will be sorted. Actual women could just be used for breeding, and kept in large brothels for men who like that sort of thing or can't afford a decent sex-doll.

What a great show this was

Anyone watch the spoof of it a few years ago?

Loved Tomorrow's World. Used to watch that and then switch over for Tales of the Unexpected and get freaked out by that lady dancing in the opening credits.
Haha! It was the playing cards that spun round that used to scare me. I used to get a lob on from the dancing woman. I want virtual reality to progress in the future like a suit you could wear and feel touch. So I could Imagine myself in Tesco and the fit checkout girl I could just have her and It would be "real" it'd put paid to them court orders and what not

They've been out for years.

They cost a shit load though.

£3-6k for a decent one, less than a lot of weddings. Just need to find the housework robot now.

Watched a programme on BB3 a couple of years ago and this fella was wearing a prototype jacket which monitored your health and would inform the relevant authorites if you were having a heart attack etc and inform them where you were with GPS etc...

It also showed a car that was powered by 5 or 6 computers that was driving around the streets of some town in America. It auto detected other cars, people on sidewalks etc... and parked itself.
