Tony book in Tenerife!

Loved it when the club (presumably) got Tony and Buzzer to bring out the PL trophy on that glorious day;

So did I, Jim.

It was a magnificent gesture.

Tony had a great team in the late 70;s only to be dismantled.Treated very unfairly.

I'm old enough to remember that it soon morphed into:

"Number one is Colin Bell,
Number two is Colin Bell ..."

and right through the team until we got to:
"We all live in Colin Bell's House, Colin Bell's House, Colin Bell's House."

Remember watching his home debut for City, a lot of eyebrows were raised with his age, but he proved everyone wrong.

One of City's most inspired ever signings (imo).

Back home now as it was only a 5 night break for me.Tony and his wife and friends are still there for another 9 days or so i think.The great man came to the bar and bought me a drink last night,top man and i of course returned the favour for him and his best mate,they have been friends since school,his mate is a great guy as well.

He shook hands and said it was nice meeting me.......nice for him meeting me!!!It was an honour to share some laughs and a drink with HIM! He laughed when i told him how i used to get to the ground early as a kid before the police started work and pay 2/6d into the scoreboard then jump over the wall and into the kippax,so saving 6d on the transfer gate to watch him and the lads play.

Long may he enjoy his holidays in the sun,he has earnt them!
