Tony Pulis

why shouldn't he moan about decisions against his team? Baconface, Wenger, Benitez have all been doing it for years to bully the FA to treat them more favourably. I don't mind him TBH, he's done a good job for Stoke, his team is aggressive, try to bully players and they play direct football BUT he gets results for the club, keeps them in the Premier and makes it as uncomfortably as possible for the opposition, against all the odds with hardly any money to spend. Doing a good job and fair play to him!
For me there are more mangers out there that are more annoying than him, Redknapp, Baconface, Bruce, Moyes, Benitez are all constantly trying to manipulate the FA for a "fairer" deal.

Spot on mate.

Pullis sends his team out to operate at the edge of the laws and then moans when the laws are applied correctly. I don't know about his personality but his TV appearances do him few favours, he comes accross as a rather bitter little man.

Stoke typify the 'if you've got lemons make lemonade' approach, unfortunately their brutally pragmatic style makes them unpopular but I should imagine that Pullis is pleased to cultivate this attitude; they are a slightly more successful version of Millwall.

Despite what you think of him, he is a brilliant manager who will keep us up, and in the coming years will have more money to spend, because whether you like it or not, we are going to be around for some time.

-- Sun Mar 21, 2010 9:16 am --

Btw, good luck today, hope you win.

I have no doubt that you'll stay around, the Stoke fans I know seem convinced that there will be money to spend (although they seem a little sketchy on the details of where it's coming from).

I've no particular axe to grind with The Potters and I must confess I give them very little thought but it will be a long time before any other supporters grab their fixture lists at the start of the season in eager anticipation of a game against Stoke. Unless Crewe or Port Vale get promoted a lot.

Btw, good luck today, hope you win.
I read or heard somewhere, that despite Pulis getting you into the prem, that the Stoke fans are split on Pulis, is that true, or just bollocks? Something to do with his 1st time at the club or something, I cant remember now.

The majority of fans are behind him, just the odd few who call for his head when results don't go as expected. But that is true of a lot of clubs.

isn't he a manc as well ? Must be a rag !

The bitter little shite is Welsh! Hope Beattie game him a good battering, not because he's Welsh, but because he's a little shite. Said to my wife watching MOTD this morning, he's the sort of person even a pacifist would thump smack on the nose or swish him round the back of the head with a baseball bat.

He's definitely trying the old Ferguson trick of intimidating the FA/EPL into appointing refs who have been favourable to them.

Everyone know what Fergison does, the fact the FA want to keep Utd at the top and Rooney selling shirts all around the world means until someone overcomes the odd to knock them off thier purch, then they'll always get preforential treatment... even then he's come out this week and criticised (rightly so) the FA over the numerous Gerrard affairs.

Wenger is a sore loser, i've never heard him personally attack officials in a way he'd be trying to stop the FA appointing them at the Emirates again, he'll moan about decisions, opposition tactics etc but intimidate... not really.

Benitez is a nut job, seriously, i've no idea what goes through his head; his substitutions lack logic, his attitude stinks and his press conferences are as if Fergison is the only one listening... ever. Again he'll criticise decisions but ive rarely if ever seen him do what Pulis did last night.

Basically "We've complained about a referee for sending our players off and now we're surprised he's been assigned a game at our stadium" Ridiculous and about as clear an example as 'bringing the game into disrepute as you'll see'.

Pulis always reminds me of one of those barrack room lawyers, like rat-boy Neville. Strutting to and fro shouting the fucking odds to anyone stupid enough to listen.
The sort of bloke who sees himself as a sergeant major on the parade ground bellowing out orders to those he says as below him.
"Tennshun! You 'orrible little man, Shawcross. You could have decapitated one of their forwards but you chickened out! You're not a fucking man, you're a little girl. In the glasshouse you go.
The rest of you 'orrible little lot, at the double, left right, left right, left right".

Truly this man is an embarrassment to the entire profession.

and why not? it worked for Baconface, everyone looks for any edge they can get and in that case he's no different to anyone else.

-- Sun Mar 21, 2010 8:28 pm --

I'm not saying I like the fella or the way his team plays BUT he is trying to do his best for his club and trying to find any way to get a edge, there's nowt wrong with that. The next time Dean refs one of their matches he may let something go that should be punished, I don't think this is right BTW. Trying to manipulate refs can't just be for the top managers. As for Wenger what about him moaning and saying his players are targeted? surely this is a attempt to get his players extra protection isn't it? Benitez, I agree is a "nut job" but is always moaning about a fairer deal (he's not said anything about Gerrard's recent elbow has he?!) as for Baconface......need I say anything at all??????

Well a great response there, can't really argue with it.

Just how the sun doesn't shine out of our arses, it most certainly doesn't shine out of his, no matter what he might think of himself.
TP doesn't think anything of himself, but he is entitled to his opinion just as much as Mancini, Taggart, Benitez etc.
Congratulations on your well deserved 3 points today by the way. I have to mention Ricky Hatton too, for a couple of reasons.
1. I am a huge fan of the bloke, and I'm glad he is quitting, it is the right decision.
2. I also know that he is a massive blues fan, and he will be over the (blue) moon with todays result.

Regards to you all, from a respectful Stoke City fan. Best wishes for fourth.
