The lounge I was in for the Monday Night game against City last season looked like a Working Men's Club from the 1980's, with catering to match. I was disappointed that there wasn't a "turn" on at half-time tbh.

So no, not quite squalid. Down-at-heel and shabby would best describe it :-)
