Yet another slow year!

When will record labels stop picking bands on image and start picking good music?

As soon as people stop buying albums on image rather than music i suppose.

Thing is, it seems more people dislike the bands around at the moment than like and listen to them.

Theres no huge bands anymore, the last one to make it big worldwide from the UK is probably Coldplay a good 4/5 years ago.

Even they're getting more of a hate following than a loved one.

To be honest, i don't listen to any mainstream music anymore. I don't want to come across as a music snob (although i probably am, just a wee bit) but i hate being told what to listen to. So many people just listen to whatever bands appear on Soccer AM or XFM for something. A little bit of searching on the internet and you can find whatever music you like, rather than what major record labels think will sell lots of CD's.

It's just a little bit more effort, but i find it much more satisfying when you've sifted through loads of rubbish and find one band whose music you love, you kind of appreciate it a bit more.

Disturbed - Indestructible
Metallica - Death Magnetic
Slipknot - All Hope is Gone
Soundshok - The Bringers of Bloodshed
Extreme - Saudades de Rock
