ALL NEXT SEASON...I think that is being realistic and that is what I'm hoping for. The club for me should not be buying "superstars" left right and centre, take the KAKA deal, i was uneasy with that as in he would take sometime to get use to the EPL ( i can hear the £100m waste of money rag songs). I say good solid buys and the next SWP's and Stevies of the world to bring the club forward. Blackburn have never been taken seriously winning the PL, it was bought same with Chelsea<<<first time.... Build a solid team and build respect and conquer in time... because if it happens overnight the press and TV and other fans will look to second spot as we don't count due to money and CITY count always have and always will...Hope you see my point, and Sparky( yes I said it) has to get one more season and hopefully more.... Rome (united) was not built in a day................... will be fun knocking it down slowly.

Ted you are a loon we should be aiming for a UEFA cup place at least.
jesus h christ......... do you not see my point?

I get you're point about not needing superstars and i agree with that. However if we go of and add a couple more stevies and a couple more SWP to the team and maybe sort the defence out, We will already have a top 6 team. How slow do you want us to go anyway.

Since we become rich last year we were 9th, fake wealth i know but it counts as it was a line of credit we didnt have before. This year 7th, next year hopefully 5th or 6th, the year after consolidate on 5th or 6th and maybe try and push into 4th. The year after that who knows maybe we will win somthing. Thats going to take 5 years, and even IF we win somthing after 5 years we'll still be slagged of by the RAG media.

how would just finishing in the top 10 be progress? we finished 9th last season and are more than likely to finish top 10 this year. If i was one of the owners, I wouldnt be happy pumping around £100m into the team and not finishing higher than the likes of fulham, west ham and even villa

Next year I expect and easy top 6-7 and maybe higher. I expect more alot more away wins. I also expect us to make it to the semi-finals or quarters in atleast 2 cups! With the chance of winning something! A real chance!

The 3rd Year, this is when I expect 4-5 finish maybe a 6th if were unfortanate. I also expect a very good record. A Cup win and some close calls in some cups like the Semi-finals. With some of the best in the world. This year I think we should have the player to win best in the world.

Year 4, we become a top 4 team and make the league a top 5 team. We win another cup maybe 2 and challenge for Champions! Then ...we win it!

Ship out the shite in the summer, bring in quality, aim for the top 6 then kick on from there.

Well, we don't know who is going to arrive in the summer, but lets be reasonable and assume the squad will be improved. Our home form is not an issue, and with an improved squad, you would think next season we would get as many, if not a few more, points at home.

If we can improve our away form, and we probably will because this season has been unusually bad, then the points start adding up. I would expect City to be looking for a top 5 or 6 place next season, with Villa, Spurs and Everton in the mix as well.

I think top 4 next season may be a step too far, but I definately think next season we will start pushing up the table. And who knows. As I wrote above, we don't know what is going to happen this summer.
