Tbh i think it will take considerably more than 40 mill, as i said a moment ago, all these ppl saying Torres is loyal why has he not put the rumours to bed like our carlos? He gets the right offer and he's off imo whether thats us is another thing.
tbh i agree with you, the only thing about torres (as good as he is), would be paying an inflated fee for someone who's knee is already showing signs of having problems handling the rigours of a premiership season.
fair enough, he had a barmstorming first season, but this second season really started to take it's toll on his knees.
if we can get him for a reasonable price, and have money left over for an understudy to him, all the better.
also, if we could knick alonso back over here from real madrid to piss them scousers off even more would be great, a midfielder with vision to unlock defences with the killer pass is something we don't really have at the moment.

That aside, he's the kind of player we need if we're to challenge. Yes, he's had some injuries, but as I've said before, I think we'll have a squad strong enough to allow him time to recover. Maybe Liverpool rushed him back too soon, as they relied on him too much?

Signing Torres will take the club forward massively. We can seriously consider challenging for the title with a fit torres and a few more additions. This signing would make the world take notice and the press would have to stop mocking us. I don't see it happening but i pray that it does, he's the best striker in the world, guaranteed goals! Vidic and Rio will be bricking it.
