torres

Circa £3o million at least for a washed up has been? Not on your nelly!

Torres has been crap for over a year now and, in my humble opinion, we shouldn't throw good money at misfiring players . . chances are that he's had a few knocks and has lost his edge forever . . just like so many other boy wonders , , owen, gazza, best etc etc.

i think it could be depression, but more likely it is the fact that he played through injury (whether he was forced to or not, i dont know) too many times. if you keep pushing your body like that before its ready, you will start to see permanent damage. i think that is very likely the case here

He should have had the courage to come to us.

I think the Chelsea move was similar to the way we got Robinho in that he was just desperate to get away from Liverpool in the end as Robinho was with Madrid.

He is top quality but just doesn't look like he is enjoying his football and possibly doubting his own decisions at the moment.

That's quite a good point; another similarity being that both transfers were also about sending a message from the owners; showing that you've got money to spend.

Indeed.

CA cannot afford to do a Shevchenko else he will be toast like Mourihno with RA. Eversince the Norski Referee fiasco Drogba is a CL liability IMO. As some of you remarked Torres is a damaged product. Evidently we have seen enough of his performances at Liverpool, WC, and now with Chelsea to come to this conclusion that he is past his prime. Chelsea should have spend the money on Aguero.

I think given a solid pre-season and a ounce of confidence then he'll be back to his best next season. The key is confidence though and he doesn't look like he has any at all.

He had his best game in a Chelsea shirt last night. Not hard compared to his previous 8 appearances but he looked a lot better last night.

I was amazed he scored so many for Liverpool because before that he wasn't known for his goalscoring. Similar to Tevez for us, I don't think anybody could imagine he'd have such a great goals to game ratio. Maybe Liverpool was the club for Torres and City is the club for Tevez.

possibly but i'm scared we'll lose tevez and would like a nailed on striker to replace him.
Not to worry, if Tevez leaves we already have Jo, *cough*I meant Dzeko. :)

Like Fowler before him, continuous injuries have seen him lose a yard of pace.

He'll score eventually of course but I doubt he'll ever get more than 20 in a season again. I hope I'm wrong as he was/is a fantastic player to watch.

I suggest that Chelsea send him for a rehabilation stint ala Rooney. If it work for Rooney it will work for Torres.

David Blaine is going to be pretty pissed off - Torres has broken his record of doing nothing in a box for 44 days...
