"His goal record wasn't that bad last year"...
Factor in the number of games it took for him to score those and the picture becomes much more bleak. 22 in 64 is actually pretty poor for a striker (especially one playing in front of Mata, Hazard and Oscar the entire season), and when you consider who those were scored against, it's even worse. 8 in 36 (28 starts) in the league despite having virtually no competition most of the season is abysmal (not to mention the fact that he scored a whole 1 in the league between December 23 and the last day), and the only thing he's looked even moderately competent in is the Europa League against the likes of Steaua Bucharest, Rubin Kazan and Basel and the Mickey Mouse League Cup against the likes of Wolves, Leeds, etc.
See no logic whatsoever in relieving Chelsea of their biggest burden while simultaneously transferring it onto us. There's a reason every Chelsea fan can't wait til the day they see the back of him and why no other club in Europe will touch him with a 10ft barge pole despite this supposedly brilliant goalscoring record last season. He's damaged goods and a flat tack bully at best now.
