Tottenham in for Huntelaar?

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is expected in Madrid on Monday to meet with the Real Madrid hierarchy to discuss the potential signing of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, according to reports in France.

L'equipe claims Levy wishes to acquire the 25-year-old Dutch forward after talks broke down with Ruud van Nistelrooy due to the 32-year-old's £80,000 a week wage demands.

Although the former Ajax star only joined Madrid in January and is under contract until 2013, Huntelaar may find first team opportunities hard to come by if, as expected, David Villa arrives at the Bernabeu in the coming weeks.

Huntelaar has scored eight goals in 20 La Liga outings since moving to the Spanish giants for €20 million, having previously scored an amazing 105 times in 136 games over three and a half years with Ajax.

This is not the first time Tottenham have been linked with the Dutch international. Last summer the North London club were said to have attempted to sign Huntelaar from Ajax, only to turn their attentions to Russian striker Roman Pavlyuchenko.




Definitely think we should go for him, would be a much better bet than RSC anyway.

A much better player than RSC!

I think he would do really well in the prem.

if we went in for him, we'd have to brace ourselves for a 'we was interested by the lad, but city come in for 'im and BUOTW' from Twitcher...

we should go in for every player Spuds are in for, just to p155 that cockerney tw4t off!
 
If they can't afford 80k a week for Ruud Van Nistelrooy then surely Huntelaars wages must be similar?! I suppose that Twitcher would blame us for wage demands too!!
 
Love the way he is better than RSC for being a sucess in Holland but a failure in Spain!!

Also didnt Wigan only have Palocious (sp) for 6 months and sold him on.

Also, i'd pay RVN £80k a week for a couple of years.
 
tbh pay horseface 80k a week hed do a job for 3 years.. his trans fee is only around 2m.. its a steal.
