Tottenham Pre Match Thread

We are well overdue a good performance- yet despite that our recent record has been nothing short of amazing considering the below par performances
Spuds have had a good record and are due a stinker - it is the great opportunity for us to show them up and I firmly believe there will be a reaction to Saturday's result
plus their two offside goals were outrageous at WHL and realistically we are due some Karma similar to Everton. Pochetino encourages a good bit of thuggery with his team and they get away with a lot if you watch their games - yes they are competitive but they really go close to the line many times and it would be so sweet to smack them a good one! Lamella and Alli are two examples .

I'm not usually one for the season defining game thing but I do feel this match is very important in terms of confidence going forward. A win puts us right back in the mix and gives Spuds a bit to think about. They are playing very well but they can be vulnerable when it matters. Early press and early goal and it could be very interesting. The players will know they were second best to Leicester and I hope we see a backlash and a show of pride in the Spuds game. It won't be an easy game but it is one we can win with the right performance.
But the performance required will not be easily achieved. We must -perhaps this will be a first for Pellers- set out to negate Spurs who sad the say are currently a vastly superior side to us. If we try to go toe to toe they will dismantle us. One of the most depressing features of Saturday was our inability to cause them any problems at the back at least until the last 10 mins or so. The shambolic defending has been well documented but for most of the game we were totally impotent up front. We need to frustrate them on Sunday and hope with a slice of luck to get our noses in front and build some confidence to push on. If we are to win this it will be a dirty win and nothing like the smashings we have given these guys in recent years. Oh how we have gone into reverse!!!

No huge reason to have much confidence for this on the face of it. I just wonder whether now that Silva is injured too, it will force the manager to pick a more pragmatic team, nice stiff midfield with Yaya further upfield. If that is the case nicking it with a bit of Sergio magic isn't beyond the realms. Of course if he chooses to play people out of position just to keep Yaya in the role he can no longer even carry out effectively and we add to that the fact that we are missing lots of creative players further up the pitch, we could get absolutely battered.

I suspect right now and for the rest of the week the Spurs manager will be drilling them on exactly how to beat us. Soak up the pressure and hit us on the break.

Due to what I've seen this season I doubt our manager and coaches will be studying Spurs and drilling our players on how to beat them.

Is it confirmed that Silva is out?

Mp thinks so but he is in Spain getting treatment so we'll see
With no kev, jesus or nasri to step in i'm thinking another battering awaits

With all the injured players out ,we can still manage to nick 3 points.. BUT we have a fucking philosophy to go kamikaze.
So yeah expect another upset.

The way he's been playing, it's neither here nor there.

If we manage to win this, I will be as surprised as I was when we beat Seville away. I am fully expecting us to lose and will not be surprised if we lose very heavily.

If Aguero plays amazingly well we can get a draw at very best.
Spurs are on form, well organised, fighting for each other and tactically astute. That’s everything we hate in an opposition.
We play well against teams with fear, who are off form, who let us play and are in the bottom half of the league. That’s our type of opponent.

If Silva is out & Kompany is available then i would go for this.
Hart
Zaba Kompany Otimendi Clichy
Fernando Fernandinho Delph
Barker Aguero Sterling

We should get beat. Everything points to us losing, but for some strange reason I'm confident we can get something. I felt before the Leicester game we would struggle but I feel different for this one, fuck knows why. Hope I'm right.

I expect this feeling to last until 1 minute after kick off when we decipher that Pellegrini has picked 442 with Delph on the left and Yaya in the middle.
