For you cycling guys is Froome using an elliptical chainwheel?

I know the Sky TT bikes are elliptical but i'm not sure about his bike for the mountains.

Interesting. I can't see an advantage but they wouldn't use one otherwise..so off to google!

Don't they use them for the time trialling?

Seems they do; I can understand in time trialling as they 'most likely' don't have a need for a front mech. I can't see any advantage or disadvantage to them so I'm going to say it's a gimmick.

Can't wait for the highlights. Missed the live footage due to celebrating the Lions win in a beer garden and nipping to the barbers.

Anyway, I will be out in France to see it live from Tuesday. I am a bit of a jinx but hopefully Froome is unbeatable.

Well that was a dismantling. Froome's time was the 3rd quickest ever up that climb.

I wonder if we'll see some desperate long range attacks tomorrow?

Awesome stage. That's what the Tour is all about. The young Columbian guy deserves all the plaudits as he forced it. Hopefully the other teams won't just leave it at that - lots of attacking is now the order of the day.

Not bad for someone who looks like a newborn giraffe on a bike.

Haha he's got to have one of the ugliest riding styles ever hasn't he! Those white glasses don't help either - where's your taste Chris.
