Lescott is our only weak link in the team..

He's not champions league material

None of which make Kolo better than him.

Care to share what makes Lescott better than Kolo?

I'm pretty sure bobby rates kolo higher anyway, and will ease him back in to his place..

That's why Lescott was a regular in the team and Kolo was on the bench long before Kolo's ban was it? JL was one of our most consistent players in the second half of last season.

I have said on here often: centre-back partnerships take time to develop. Dunne and Distin were the perfect example of the whole being better than the sum of the two parts.

There were several reasons we had the best defensive record in the division last season; the Kompany-Lescott pairing being one of the principal ones.

IMHO, Bobby would be foolish to break up VK / JL, as they are playing so well together.

-- Sun Sep 04, 2011 9:51 pm --

Keegan said on the box after the spurs game, the only thing he would change in that team is put Yaya at the back and bring in Tevez.
Wow.

That's why Bobby is City manager and Keegan is...

...on ESPN.

Wow.

With his tongue firmly in his cheek.

Do you think so?

I can recall Keegan at Newcastle playing Aspilla at full back because Alan Shearer, Les Ferdinand, and David Ginola were filling the forward positions.

why would you ever want to put Yaya at CB, defies logic...unless its fantasy football in your MC! Just think back to his destructive runs from midfield against the swamp things!

If Kolo makes it back in good nick, and makes the first team can anyone else see mancini pairing him and YaYa at center back and pushing vinny midfield along side de jong? or is it worth rocking a steadying boat

Why the hell would we do that?

Kompany has said many times he prefers midfield
That is not true.

Kompany has said many times he prefers midfield but is happy playing the role given, YaYa can play cb (and still make some of those commanding runs) could possibly make a good pairing with his brother and vinny with de jong.

Kompany is currently one of the best centre backs in the world, him and Lescott have created a brilliant partnership, Kolo isn't as good as either of them and Yaya is class in midfield (he won us the FA Cup remember). For all them reasons. I'm out!

that is just not true, and i've heard it said numerous times. lescott had made a few appearances around that time and was challenging KT for his place, but to say he was our established partner for VK isn't true. KT was in the team to play Villa at home, and was then pulled and replaced by lescott when the results came out

Untrue.

I'm pretty sure Toure was the preferred player until the drug test.

He was also playing much better than he did in his first season.

Lescott came in around the time of the positive test, and to be fair took his chance well.

Personally I don't think either is the right man to take us forward.

lescott has been proven to be a quality player he has been one of our most consistent performers, with some outstanding displays, it seems some fans on here would rather have a box office name, even if he is more then good enough to be part of this team

IN LESCOTT WE TRUST ;)
