Toure

An Arsenal fan told me that Toure's problem are he is positionally unsure and needs a taller partner to win the headers and preferably one to talk to him. You can't expect Toure to lead the defence. However he did say Toure put in 100% effort and is not afraid of getting hurt, he has a lot of pace and is very strong. He can also cover RB and DM if needed, the guy spoke highly of him but thought with £12 million Wnger could get a better replacement. However he did say Toure didn't get along with Gallas.

If that is anything to go by surely Vince would be the perfect partner for him? Tall and a future captain.

Don't see losing him for Jan as a massive problem - we have Ned ready to step into the breach.

Touré and Lescott in our defence would represent a huge improvement, no doubt about that.

Lescott is a very good centre half and good cover at left back. I would say 18m + Jo would be fair to prise him out of efc TOure on the other hand- I'm not convinced is that good, I would prefer onouha to be honest - younger and will get better. We also have the option of vinny playin at CB

My only problem with Vin is that he's positionally poor at CB. Neds has dug him out a few times!

These things can be taught.... Richards still has hope because he has the right attributes and can be coached an will learn himself... Vinny seems even more likely to listen and learn what defending in the prem is about.... IMO Ned is almost there already, just needs better distribution...

On the whole i expect us to defend better as a team next year... It up to the coaches and Hughes, but it has to be priority number one along side learning how to kill off games away from home.....

Sensible post on a sensible thread on an unsenbile transfer forum!!!!

Ps my opinion on Toure is he aint that good but Yaya on the other had - what a player! ?I bang on about it a lot on my posts but we need good players ----WITH HEIGHT!!!!-------

The best teams play good football but can cope with the rough stuff and dish it out, we need big buggas that can play a bit....

I agree, if this leads to YAYA what a signing indeed. But if not, yes it does seem like a lot of money, but it's the Sheik's and not mine so doesn't bother me. Also with all the potential talent upgrades coming in this summer Hughes is going to have some tough line-up decisions to make when everyone is fit and ready to go, but man what a nice luxury that is. Such an exciting time to be a Blues supporter.

I hope we don't buy too many African players, losing them for a month every two years would be a pain in the arse.
i am with you on this, unless we have a vey good backup
