Toure's agent speaks out (again)

It seems pretty likely that Toure will leave this summer, and as others have said he'll rightly be remembered as a City legend. I can't really recall a similar player to Toure in his pomp. That combination of pace, power, skill and goal scoring threat made him a pretty unique midfielder, and one who will be difficult to replace. I suspect we'll only truly realise what he offered once he has gone.

Would be great if Guardiola was able to find a role for him, but his agent's recent comments suggest that a parting of the ways seems more likely.

I agree, regardless of the various charades he's one of the best players I've ever seen. I don't believe we can replace him so to speak. We have to adapt. As you say I'd have loved to have seen him stay under Pep, but I think his agents comments re Pep were that trepidation that he knows he may be sold.

Thanks for the memories Toure, you will always go down as a legend for me, regardless of what might have happened in the past. I think this summer move will be good for both parties. Let's cherish our memories without further tarnishing them.

Ya Ya to me will never be a city hero, despite being one of the most influential players i have seen in a blue shirt. A city hero is someone who gives his all for the club, Ya Ya cares about Ya Ya and that is all.

Agree. The sooner him and his cock agent have nothing to do with this club, the better for me. He plays when he can be arsed.

What a mixed bag that guy is. On his day, arguably the best midfield player in the world. When he can't be arsed, utter garbage.

I'll always remember things like this:

But cake gate and some of his really dire performances, interviews and general dickheadedness, I'd rather forget.

Totally agree. Some of the comments here from City fans are embarrassing. Toure has scored some of the most important goals in City's history. Yes, his performances have tailed off in the last two seasons but what he helped City achieved should never be forgotten. At his best he was also one of the most exciting players I've ever seen. That goal against Villa....

Has he said something else now ? I've not seen anything new.

Whatever, I expect him to be talking to Yaya trying to poison his thinking, whinging about the club & trying to create a rift between Yaya & City, in the hope of getting him a move. And I doubt City will fight that hard against it this time. It looks likely he'll be gone in the summer.

But as others have said, he's still a legend for what he's done in his time here & may make a bit more history before he goes.

Absolutely brilliant as an attacking midfielder on his day, producing some of my greatest memories as a City fan.

When played as a defensive midfielder he can also be a liability causing problems by not picking up midfied runners.

The answer of course is dont play Yaya as a D/M

Well Pep didn't really bounce him. Pep just didn't want to Guarantee him starts in every game. Pep wanted him to stay, but Yaya wanted guarantee and felt he wasn't being shown the respect he deserved, so he chose to leave. Eto and Ronaldihno on the other hand were moved with Gustdiola blessings.

Ah right. I see.

Either way though, judging by his agents words, I'm guessing a similar scenario will go down again. It's a shame.

Deep lying playmakers are in all the elite teams that we aspire to be like, so we have to replace Yaya if he goes. There's no "oh, Delph and Dinho will have the legs." We'll need at least top class passing in that position.

Quite happy for all parties to move on. For me, Yaya has been a fabulous player who had earned legendary status for all those key moments.

But I won't put him in the same elevated bracket as Bell, Summerbee, Silva or Kun, who combine(d) exceptional playing records with great attitudes to the club.

I hope his last months don't seriously tarnish the memories.

What, are you like 10? Who gives a fuck? Do you think all our players should have City tattoos and call their first-borns Colin Francis Buzzer Mercer Kinkladze?

This is their job. And all employees can be flakes. Toure has been a flake, occasionally, but you can't just airbrush his genius out of our history because you were upset he was upset. (and let's not forget he lost his brother that summer too, you clod)

lets never ever forget the impact Yaya Toure had on Manchester city without him scoring very big goals to win the fa cup league cup and 2 premier league titles we needed him in the early days and what a player when look back on yaya time a Manchester city you would fined it hard to pick another player who had the impact in big games he had the power the goals and them JCB runs knocking everthing over in his way

I can pick a top 5 impacts from yaya right off the top of my head and if I was to look at everything I would fined it hard to put a top 10 list up

People are seeing Pep links where there clearly aren't any. This **** of an agent has been trying to engineer a move every window, every window he comes out with shit, now he comes out with shit and it's a "sign" pep is a done deal.

Blues are too hung up on this pep thing, getting all fan boy like. it's cringe worthy

I`m 44.

And that`s my honest opinion of him.

Great player when he tries, but for me he only tries when it`s suits him. So for me he can fck off.

And the cake incident was an utter embarrassment.

Thanks for having me.
