Just wear some nondescript black trainers. As long as you're not taking the piss with some luminous high-tops, they usually don't mind too much.

I just wear whatever I feel like in town these days, trainers or shoes or boots it doesn't seem to matter unless the bouncer thinks you look like a bunch of cunts. If you want a bit of attention backless Wranglers are the jean of choice.

not had a problem with trainers in town for years. you should be right as long as you steer clear of deansgate locks.
