To nick (and slightly doctor) a famous quote from a movie; "The greatest trick Adam Sandler ever pulled was convincing the world he was funny". He's painful to watch. Him and Will bloody Ferrel.

Think when your a kid in the late 70's early 80's you watched a lot of what would be perceived as Z you kinda grow a soft spot for this sort of shite

Good points there. The original Roadhouse is a very silly premise and very silly film. Bad guys driving around in monster trucks and killing people by ripping their necks out.

Not sure Gyllenhaal has enough charm to play it the way Swayze did. Seems to be walking the line between neurotic and psychotic. Although he is the nominal good guy can see similarities with his character in Ambulance.
