If you want trainers for running in, you ned to go to a shop to get a gait analysis - a proper running shop. Sweatshop are the best imo but you could also go to up and running or one of the smaller specialist shops.
You need to try on lots of different pairs to see which ones suit you and what size you need - you usually need a bigger size for running in that you would normally wear, this is after they have worked out if you pronate or not which is the most important thing to know when buying running trainers.

This is not good advice.

am in nike air pegasus atm and they are really comfortable as well. sounds vain but they look the nuts too. have absolutely battered them mile wise the last 12 months (indeed have done a marathon in them) so must just have been lucky as have had no injuries, etc. will look at getting my new pair sized up. thanks for the suggestions everyone, inc lancet & bth. think il give them a miss though :)

If you have got on with pegasus, why are you even asking for other suggestions - stay in pegasus until they stop making them.

that does contradict your previous statement somewhat, regardless, as previously stated these will primarily be for the gym/my vain personality dictates that I want a different pair.

Yeah sorry, I was looking at it from a running perspective from habit. Personally, I would stick to the pagasus for running and buy something seperate for the gym as you don't want to waste the running trainers for walking about the gym in (they don't last long) but you shouldn't really be running much distance in a multi-use pair.
