There is no Train or Bus from Lyon Airport. Only transport is Taxi 60-80 euros or Tram 42 euros return. Very expensive, but have spotted that you can purchase a return Tram ticket for 21 euros by buying the tickets online 2 Months in advance. Service is called Rhonexpress and can be found on the Airports website. Just a couple of days left to take advantage of the savings of £20.

How far away is the airport? Has St. Exupery been moved to Switzerland? Sounds like another Macron rip-off! We had a go on the Kusttram - 80 km up the Belgian coast the other month. Four of us got a 'four-ticket' for €16. We cycled back but we could have used the ticket to get back!

We travelled to Lyon for the Euros and this doesnt sound right and if i remember correctly we definitely did not pay 80 euro + for 2 people into the city centre.

Also note, there is like 1 very small bar at this stadium, i suggest get a carry out in the city centre. The ground is in the middle of nowhere and you need to get a tram to get there.

edit* just found this online.

Rhonexpress: the direct Shuttle service from the airport to the city center
The Rhônexpress is tram shuttle service that goes between Lyon-Saint Exupéry airport and Lyon’s Part-Dieu train station. The tram stop can be found in the St Exupery train station.
The shuttle runs every 15 minutes, and will take around 30 minutes.

Full-price tickets cost €16.10/€27.80, with cheaper rates if you buy online or are under 25.
Children under 12 travel free.

Tickets can be purchased online, from machines at the airport/tram stops or from the on-board conductor (€4 fee). The machines and conductor accept all major bank cards and cash (euros).

At the Gare de Lyon Part-Dieu, the tram stop is outside the station. But be aware: there are two exits. Follow the signs inside for the Rhônexpress (Porte Alpes) and it will be on your right as you exit. If you find yourself by the metro station, then you need to be on the other side.

Ah right, fair enough. Just dont remember it being that much for tram, could of been cheaper during that June for the Euros. Train Travel in France is very reasonable anyway. They did run free trams from the city centre for the match. Again this could of been because it was Northern Ireland and Ukrainians and might not be the norm or a regular matchday.

These are trams from the Airport to the City Centre mate, not to the game.
Have gone on the ‘this is Lyon’ website there are only two official ways of getting to and from the airport, taxi or tram.

Yeah, just noted that there is a tram line to the ground also. It was free that day. The stadium is in an industrial park and about 6 miles out of town.
