i never thought thatchers was that bad compared to say keanes on haaland or nolans stamp a few weeks back, just the fact both were running at speed made it look a lot worse

as we know the fa don't re-referee games and can't upgrade a yellow card to a red. if the ref has seen an incident and dealt with it the fa is powerless to take any further action. that is if your name is Ronaldo and you play for the rags. however this cast iron regulation doesn't apply if your name is ben thatcher and you play for manchester city. in this case the fa will upgrade your yellow card to a red and ban you for 8 games plus a further 15 games suspended for 2 years.
