We had some meh years between 14 and 18 and Hazard would have been amazing for us then. On the whole it doesn’t feel like he had the career he could have though. Too inconsistent and little bit of a primadonna. Little bit similar to Nasri but better goal scorer.

Does anyone remember the very strange end of season interview with Khaldoon when he praised Rodwell after his two goals against Norwich. So many things were strange then. Luckily, we tend to get much more right than wrong though.

Ha, it's all still too real in my mind for me to forget that 96-98 period, watching from the Kippax as we capitulated to Bury, or crumble at Edgeley Park. Dark days indeed.

It was Mancini's own fault. He wanted five strikers and didn't want hear about FFP. He could have signed Van Persie but refused to sell Balotelli. Van Persie won the league for the rags and Balotelli went on loan in January, but only after having a public bust up with Mancini having contributed jack shit for five months.

It was quite obvious that De Rossi had no interest in playing for City. He was woefully one-paced at the best of times and never did anything anywhere else to suggest he would have improved the team significantly. Mancini was obsessed with him, but if we were going to spend a fortune on a midfield player it should have been Fernandinho a year early.

Had City called Mancini's bluff and accepted his resignation at the beginning of the summer we would have had a more productive transfer window.

Balotelli was sold to AC Milan.

His loyalty to a petulant and irrational player arguably sped up his departure. I could live to be 100 and not understand why he did it. A player like that in the dressing room must have caused unrest.
