Transfer Open Day

It would be good to cover web sites too - tribal would be a joke!

Hope we will be all over this site in the summer!

Thank you Nunez, I hadn't been able to find a source to prove it

The window opened the day after the end of last season cos Chelsea signed Bosingwa. If the window opened on July 1st SSN would have made a big deal about having ac ountdown to the window opening, but there was no mention of a window opening at all. I assumed they haven't changed it and it must be the same for this season

OHHH my god i thought it was july 1st . In fact i am sure i posted that last week . Soz for duff info then. That means we have only got 10 more days . Ladies and gents pls make sure you are buckled in safely.........................Here WEEE GO !

I finding it very strange that I can't find the date on the web

I've even looked through all the FA rules and still couldn't find it ....... also searched the FIFA site with no joy

a bit more hunting and I found this in the FIFA transfer regulations

The first registration period shall begin after the completion of the season and shall normally end before the new season starts. This period may not exceed twelve weeks. The second registration period shall normally occur in the middle of the season and may not exceed fourweeks. The two registration periods for the season shall be communicated to FIFA at least
12 months before they come into force. FIFA shall determine the dates for any association
that fails to communicate them on time.

on the basis of this wouldn't the 25th start date exceed the 12 week rule if the window closes on the 1st September

Transfer window officially opens on the 1st of July, but clubs tend to start there business as early as possible after the season and there is nothing stopping this but something about the players registrations dont go through officially until the 1st of July. So thats when its officially opened

Strictly speaking you are allowed to buy players whenever you want, you just can't register them until 1st January and the day after the domestic season finishes. That is why the date is being shown as 25th May for Premier League but FL clubs are buying players now e.g. Cardiff have just bought the Norwich goalie.

Bear in mind though that the Italian, Spanish and French leagues don't finsh until 30th/31st May so realistically don't expect any movements until mid-June by the time fees and personal terms have been agreed.

You will also find that most clubs don't do business until the last 3-4 weeks before the season kicks off to avoid paying players during the 'down time'. However, if Hughes wants to go to his training camp again I would expect him to get most of targets in before the players come back in early July.

No it doesn't. The sources in this thread have proved it doesn't
