I think we need to all calm down and put things in perspective. We all know that it is going to be a slow process until we build a trophy winning side so why dont we just consider each player we sign as an improvement on what we have. For example bridge is better than anything we have, so is bellamy and RSC.
If we didnt have all this money then we would all be buzzin about signing the likes of bellamy, bridge and RSC.
If we sign too many robinho's early on i think it will be detrimental. You have to remember that it took the top sides years to build and mould class teams. The money seems to have gone to the fans heads.
Why not just chill out and watch city become a force over the next few years. I am absolutely delighted by the prospect but so many people are unbelieveably negative about everything. Its shocking.
The thought of city being able to challenge for honours was unthinkable a couple of years ago- corradi n samaras or bellamy, robinho and RSC.
I know what my choice is. Lets just be patient and enjoy the rise of the blue moon.
Cheers

No problem with Bridge, no problem with RSC. But Bellamy is rubbish.

No, you would have got the same opinion on Bellamy from most on here two-three years ago. I remember when he was leaving Liverpool, hardly anyone wanted him then.

I think it has. Because people seem not to be arsed about spending £20m and £200k a week on the likes of Bellamy and Parker. No-one is saying we have to sign a team of Robinho's straight away, I'll be happy with players that can contribute now, but still be a part of the team that takes the next step forward.

Not much point in having a discussion board if we're not going to discuss things.

"Not much point in having a discussion board if we're not going to discuss things"

Fair point

Also moomba, i get the feeling u agree with me but you have a slight dislike for bellamy.

I think what is making some City fans uneasy is that games are coming up thick and fast, and judging by our away form and last home game, we have no chance of getting 3 points from them without at least a few new faces. I personally don't think Wayne Bridge is going to make enough of a difference to give us 3 points against Portsmouth, but if we want to break into the top 6 this season, we simply MUST start picking up 3 points in these fixtures.

Before the window opened I had foolishly hoped we'd have signed 3 or 4 players by now, and we could go into these early January games with a renewed confidence and optimism. It now looks like we'll have to wait another week or two just to get targets like Parker and Bellamy.

I think that is the root cause of the frustration - we can't afford to drop any more points this season to mediocre opposition.

I'd call it a strong dislike. ;) And I just don't rate him, West Ham got ripped off when they paid £7m for him two years ago. 6 goals later and his value has doubled? Thats just embarassing.

I've got no problem with buying solid players initially, although I'd hope that we're still looking for potential from Europe.
